As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the pleasure of sampling some of the dishes at Pueblo Viejo Grill. The Nachos al Carbon were a standout appetizer, with homemade tortilla chips topped with refried beans, melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and jalapeno peppers. The burst of flavors and textures in each bite was truly exceptional.
For those looking for a refreshing salad option, the Pueblo Viejo Tostada Salad did not disappoint. It was filled with refried beans, tossed salad, and perfectly seasoned shredded chicken. The combination of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, tomato, and pico de gallo added a delightful touch to the dish.
When it came to tacos, the Tacos al Carbon Plate was a true standout. Served on soft double corn tortillas with choice of steak, grilled chicken, or carnitas, these tacos were bursting with flavor. The hot sauce, diced onion, and cilantro on the side enhanced the overall experience.
Overall, my experience at Pueblo Viejo Grill was exceptional. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and delectable dishes make this restaurant a must-visit for Mexican food enthusiasts. If you find yourself in Indio, California, do not miss the opportunity to dine at Pueblo Viejo Grill.

Thanks to everyone who posted about this awesome Mexican restaurant, it was exactly as advertised. We had the carnitas plate and chile verde and it was delicious! Quick service along with hot food, made this a pleasant surprise out here in the desert. Thanks again everyone!

Best Mexican food in the Desert. Margaritas and service are excellent. My favorite order so far are their fajitas.

Food was just wonderful!. Service was great & they went the extra mile. Loved the ambiance & comfy booths. Always feels great to be there, Everytime we go! Server's are all wonderful. "Chill",is our favorite! Can't tip him enough!

A family favorite for many years. A great selection of well executed classic Mexican dishes. The service is friendly and food comes out pretty fast even when they are busy. A cozy dining room with a lively atmosphere. A great selections of top shelf tequila and a mix of Mexican and domestic draft beers with a few local selections. With regard to several recent complaints about the prices, get a clue. The costs associated with running a restaurant: Wages, food costs, insurance, utilities have risen dramatically the last few years. In addition all prices are listed on the menu, if you can't afford to pay the prices, or think they are too high for you just don't order it. As my dad used to say if you can't afford to go out for dinner and drinks stay home, it is always cheaper.

Dark like a good desert Mexican restaurant should be. The place is a little narrow so can be tough to walk thru to the back when it's full. They have booths and tables. Margaritas are large in giant goblets and strong (I got the ultimate, in the future I might get a mezcal version), I loved the trio fajitas, incredibly hot and sizzling, with fresh sides. Chips and salsa were very good too, although you do pay for refills. Service was friendly and attentive, felt warm and local. Really pleasant place, can't wait to come back.

My husband and I absolutely found this restaurant to be so special in so many ways.. first off.. you must be willing to wait!! Have patience please.. it worth it.. I promise!! The food is some of the best Mexican food I've had in a very long time..the atmosphere is fun.. it's loud but it should be don't you think?? It's not fine dining but it's clean and and the atmosphere makes for an interesting experience!!!

Cute little spot, wait staff were pleasant. Only reason it's 4 instead of 5.... Chips and salsa refills are an extra charge, and we had to mention that we saw it on the menu, they didn't tell us when prompting if we wanted more. OTHERWISE. Holy crap it's some very incredible sass, and rhetorical fajitas were some of the best I've ever had. We were very impressed with all of our meals, and will definitely be back!!

Snowbirds and boomer gringos - this is the place for you. Lots of Mec American favorites. My shrimp tacos were delicious as well ad my margarita. Nothing to authentic or too spicy but tasty. You have a choice of refried or black beans. A little less than $20 per plate. i paid a little less at a Coachella dive but any atmosphere. They have a nice happy hour bet 3 and 5 and pueblo Viejo is packed

Awesome Stop if in Indio Ample parking lot at side of restaurant Super friendly staff- very accommodating to our large group and baby Homemade chips and salsa (gratis) were solid Loved their Chimichanga. Good portion size (not too big or small) Jaimica drink as you'd want it Would be back!
